A beginner to intermediate, 5 week evening specialist course for Spanish wine lovers looking to learn more. No previous qualifications necessary. Covers the main regions, grape varieties, winemaking & historical context of Spanish wine.

Please note we use several venues in Manchester city centre for courses, based on room availability. The venue will be confirmed in the welcome email sent around 10 days before the start date.
No previous experience or knowledge is necessary. However, in addition to the classroom sessions, it is also recommended you do at least 10-13 hours of private study on top, to ensure you perform well in the exam & get the most out of the course.
The exam consists of a 50 multiple choice question paper, to be completed in 45 minutes. A score of 60% or higher (30+ questions correct) is required to pass the qualification. It covers topics like Spanish wine regions, grape varieties, winemaking techniques, and the cultural and historical context of Spanish wine.
This course will get you access to the most exclusive wines Spain has to offer. You’ll get to taste some of the greats like Ribera del Duero and Priorat, alongside rare and unusual wines outside the norm like Txakoli, Bierzo, Utiel-Requena, Jumilla and the unique varietals of the Canary Islands. It will inspire your next visit to some of your favourite holiday destinations!

You will be provided with a gorgeous 95 page, full-colour study manual, which contains not only everything you need to know to pass the course, but further insights including local regions’ histories, traditions and foods.
2.5 full day class version, spread over 3 consecutive weeks (plus some self guided learning of 10-13 hours) – meaning there’s minimal commitment unlike when studying for a degree or a masters. You don’t need to have completed a WSET course either, these are completely standalone and focus on the wine regions of Spain. There’s no tasting exam or focus on tasting technique either. You can relax & enjoy the wines!
You’ll be qualified in no time at all and free to spend your time with friends and family trying out all the wines you’ve learned about.
