This course is great if you’re new to spirits: whether for your career or just interested. More detail on types, styles and production processes than Level 1, but you do not need to have taken the Level 1 before.

Class times: 10am-5.30pm
Please note we use several venues in Manchester city centre for courses, based on room availability. The venue will be confirmed in the welcome email sent around 10 days before the start date.
The course ends in an exam which must be taken in person. It is a 1 hour, 50 question multiple-choice exam and you must score 55% or above to pass. Those who pass will get a digital certificate, which you can print or share a direct link to with employers.
You will be sent the WSET Spirits 2 Study Guide, a manual and SAT tasting card. The classes also include the recommended tasting samples for you to try. There are 26 including: XO Cognac, aged rum, Mezcal, single malt Scotch & Japanese whisky.

DEVELOP is the newly launched educational programme of The Drinks Trust, the drinks and hospitality industry charity. DEVELOP offers fully funded training and skills courses, delivered by industry-leading providers for people already working, or with an ambition to work, in the drinks and hospitality industry. Northern Wine School has partnered with The Drinks Trust to bring courses free of charge to eligible students.
An application and approval must be made with the Drinks Trust directly. We cannot register candidates for courses and apply for funding retrospectively, sorry.
