WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits | Condensed 3 Day Course | Manchester

This course is great if you’re new to spirits: whether for your career or just interested. More detail on types, styles and production processes than Level 1, but you do not need to have taken the Level 1 before.
Description
This is a 3 consecutive day version. You must attend each session to complete the course. There is a minimum requirement of 11 hours of private study, the majority of which must be completed before the course starts if you want to successfully pass the exam.

Exam: 5th March 2025

The course ends in an exam which must be taken in person. It is a 1 hour, 50 question multiple-choice exam and you must score 55% or above to pass. Those who pass will get a certificate and lapel pin.
You will be sent the WSET Spirits 2 Study Guide, a manual and SAT tasting card. The classes also include the recommended tasting samples for you to try. There are 30 including: XO Cognac, aged rum, Mezcal, single malt Scotch & Japanese whisky.

Funding for this course
DEVELOP is the newly launched educational programme of The Drinks Trust, the drinks and hospitality industry charity. DEVELOP offers fully funded training and skills courses, delivered by industry-leading providers for people already working, or with an ambition to work, in the drinks and hospitality industry. Northern Wine School has partnered with The Drinks Trust to bring courses free of charge to eligible students.
An application and approval must be made with the Drinks Trust directly. We cannot register candidates for courses and apply for funding retrospectively, sorry.

Criteria of eligibility for DEVELOP:
- Must be 18 or over
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Working in, or aspire to work in Hospitality
- Have a National Insurance Number, and be earning less than £26k/pa
