The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET)
This is probably the most recognised qualification in the world of wines and spirits – level one can be completed in just one-day course, up to the more advanced and level three in a six week course if you choose to study at one of our classroom sessions. WSET Wine Courses
Beginner friendly, foundation courses. Level 1 is a 1 day introduction to wine suitable for those starting a wine career or pursuing an interest in wine. Level 2 is a 3 day, intermediate qualification and good for those who have previously done the Level 1, or have some knowledge of wine already. They’re both open to everyone, so no previous qualifications or experience are necessary to enrol. Whether you’re an enthusiast looking to deepen your knowledge and understanding to bag a bargain, or starting out in the wine trade- these courses are for you.

WSET Spirits Courses
Level 1 covers the basic principles of spirit production, main types and styles of spirits, how to serve spirits, factors affecting the flavour of spirits and how to describe spirits using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits® (SAT).
At Level 2, you’ll learn about the techniques used during the four stages of spirits production: processing the raw material, alcoholic fermentation; distillation; and post-distillation operations, how techniques used during the four stages of production determine the style of a spirit, how aromatised wines are made and how local production traditions, coupled with local laws, are used to create different styles of spirits. It also covers the basic principles of cocktail making in four notable cocktail families (the spirit-forward, the short sour, the highball and the long sour).
