Announcing Sake Courses in The North West

John Callow of Northern Wine School and the founders of The Sake Sommelier Association

After a week of intensive study in London, John successfully passed the Certified Sake Sommelier examination. He was awarded his certificate in March ,and is now able to teach the Introductory Sake Sommelier Course.

He has plans to hold Sake tasting events and teach students who wish to gain formal qualifications.

Northern Wine School will be the first licensed to teach this qualification in the UK, outside London.

I recently discovered the joys and complexity of sake, and its amazing ability to pair with a wide range of foods from every culture. Having been involved in wines and spirits education for several years adding sake to our portfolio seems a natural progression.

There has been an increased appetite for Japanese, Chinese and Asian food, with the expansion of many such restaurants in The North West. John feels strongly that the region is ready to learn more about this wonderful drink.
