This course is great if you’re interested in the wines of Spain: Whether for your career or just curious. Great for those studying, or have passed the WSET Level 2 & 3 Wines or higher- Though no prior knowledge or qualifications are required.
Description
- An 8, consecutive week evening class format
- Classroom times: 6.30pm-9pm each week over 8 weeks. 6.30pm-8pm for exam on the 8th week.

Course Contents
- Week 1 – Introduction & Green Spain (Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, País Vasco).
- Week 2 – The Duero Valley (Ribera del Duero, Rueda & Toro).
- Week 3 – La Rioja & Ebro River Valley (Navarra, Aragón).
- Week 4 – Cataluña & Central Mediterranean Coast (Valencia, Murcia).
- Week 5 – The Meseta (Castilla-La Mancha, Madrid, Extremadura).
- Week 6 – Andalucía & Sherry.
- Week 7 – The Islands (Balearic/Canary Islands) & review/revision.
- Week 8 – 1 hour Exam–100 question multiple choice paper.
The course ends in an exam which must be taken in person in. It is a 60 minute, 100 question multiple-choice exam and you must score 75% or above to pass. Those who pass will get a certificate and lapel pin and the right to use the SWS post nominal.
