Olly compares and contrasts Malbecs from France and Argentina. The French ones are mainly less bold and fruity than their Argentinian cousins.

Aldi’s Vignobles Rousselet Malbec is picked out as a particular bargain at £4.39

His selection this week also includes a white from Portugal. Another bargain at £4.94 at Majestic.

The night in choice is the 2015 South African Stonehaven Suvignon Blanc. £8.99 from The Co-op

If you’re really splashing out, the £25 nine year matured Rioja from Sainsbury’s will go down a treat. This is their 2007 Bodegas Roda Rioja Reserva

Fiona goes in search of lower alcohol wines. This is an easier quest when white wines are involved. Reds are more difficult.

However she has found some good reds.
